Working on Hallet Peak (Mt. Snowia)

EDDY MONTVILLE | RRSTAR.COM

Euan Schmid, 7, adds an additional layer to his family’s rendition of Colorado’s Hallett Peak on Tuesday, Jan. 22, while shoveling with his dad, John, in Rockford. The father and son hiked at the peak last summer and built their copy to make the shoveling more fun.

Ok it’s not quite the front page, but we had fun shoveling snow yesterday and decide to make a mountain. I pulled a Tom Sawyer on Euan. He was cold and inside. So I started on the mountain. Showed Euan the beginnings of the mountain from inside and got him all excited. Before I knew it I had a helper again, helping me with the mountain. A few minutes later a man carrying a camera got out of his car and asked if he could take some pictures. It was fun.

Halloween Fun

November 5th, 2007

halloween-pumpkins.JPG

We had fun the day before halloween decorating pumkins. Grandma and Grandpa Meyer even had given us a carving set that we made good use of. Cheri and I helping the kids, probably spent 2 hours carving. We set them out and when we came out in the morning, a squirrel was eating out of the two we worked the hardest on. Blasted squirrels. We had to cool designs and what people saw halloween night was two pumpkins with two big wholes. Yesterday our friend told us we should have rubbed tabasco sauce on the outside of the finished pumpkin. Then we might of had squirrels with flames coming out of thier mouths.

Camp Grant

October 29th, 2007

We went letterboxing this weekend to an old army training camp that was used in ww1 and ww2. Not only was it fun exploring, but there was a very slight hint of danger. There were posted signs not to dig under risk of finding old ammunition. Apparently they had swept the park on two separate occasions , but had never found anything live. The other odd thing about the park is it had boy scout camp, who better to want to go digging than a bunch of boy scouts. Here are Euan and Bella exploring a bunker.
